Abandoned cars, empty houses, a town devoid of life and a breakdown of civilisation. Oh, and zombies lurking around. Yep, a Left 4 Dead sequel. Having played through the demo, the look and feel of a zombie outbreak has been perfectly captured again. If this demo is anything to go by, then the real game will be awesome.
The new special infected are, to my surprise, terrifying foes that can easily mess up your day (I've had plenty of experience being pounched on my a Hunter, strangled by a Smoker and vomitted on by a Boomer, not always in that sequence).
The Spitters have severe gastric reflux, dealing an area of effect damage that stops clever gits from employing turtle tactics.
The Jockey, on the other hand, is like an annoying goblin type creature that pounces on you, obscures your vision and steer you into dangerous places. Usually it's straight off a bridge.

I've discovered a sociopathic side to my personality. Now that the machete has become my favourite melee weapon I regularly forego the safer option of shooting zombies from a distance. I even had the balls to go head to head with a Charger and came out only slightly scathed. When the Tank appears, we run, then run and then run some more. I have wisely chosen not to try the whole melee thing on the Tank.
The demo's left me wanting more. I've just pre-ordered it online, let's hope Amazon is speedy with the delivery.
