Random Thoughts: clothing sales

Clothes! While it's a great way to bag some garments at low price - essential for students with limited budgets who don't want to wear something made of sack cloth or a wooden barrel - I've always been a bit apprehensive about clothing sales. Like the big post Christmas nightmare I went through a few days ago.

Now I could have simply sat home and flossed my teeth but I really wanted a new jacket or two so I braved the mobs which made stores like scenes from some kind of world ending scenario (nuclear war/viral epidemic/robot uprising/alien invasion/zombie plague/etc).

Mass panic at the end of the world

I have yet to see anyone physically fight over a pair of jeans but I'm sure it would be fascinating and disturbing in equal measure. After all, if people are willing to resort to violence to get a pair of stylish pants that probably won't fit their "generous" waistline, I shudder to imagine what it will be like when we're fighting for the last scraps of food.

On the subject of clothes, often I really can't be bothered. Bothered to zealously follow the latest trendy looks that is, because 1) I don't have a gazillion credit cards and 2) it's a futile struggle and 3) I like wearing my trousers without fear of them hanging off and exposing my underwear.
