More toys!

The next place deserves a bit of extra attention. Toyzone is a warehouse/flea market/car boot sale kind of place. It would take a lot of words to describe the time I spent there, so I'll keep it brief but entertaining.

Word of warning, Toyzone recently moved to Tai Koo. It's a 2 minute walk from the subway, just take the A1 exit once you get off. Don't be put off by it being in an old factory building or by the rugged freight elevators. Once you get inside, you're in for a treat.

I came across lots of Gundam kits, Tamiya, plenty of vintage Japanese toys. If you like Ultraman or Masked Rider, there'll probably be something for you. Also, lots of Hot Toys. However these weren't cheap (most of these were out of production figures). Also with limited luggage space and 3 figures coming in the post, I couldn't justify buying more.

One thing that caught my eye was the 1/6 military collection. So many! Shame I don't collect these.

A custom Edward Cullen action figure. The likeness may have been off, but it was definitely him. Moving on.

I spotted some Metal Gear Solid figures. 4 of these 12 inch figures for HK$1600 (that's about £35 a piece). I believe these were from the early 2000s. Alas, luggage space held me back once again.

Ah ha, here's some obscure stuff. I didn't even know Dragonheart action figures existed. This musht be the lasht one!

Where were all the vintage Ninja Turtles from my last visit? All I saw were the dregs. The stuff even your aunt wouldn't pick out for your birthday, because even she knew it sucked. Like this amazing April O'Neill.

I came across some Thundercats action figures. Here's Lion-O, everyone's favourite character. Even I knew that and I know next to nothing about this franchise. I was sharp enough to realise this wasn't vintage, but from the new 2011 series. I considered buying this for a friend but HK$190 seemed a bit steep. Sorry Mantak, no Lion-O for you.

It wouldn't be a toy store without a good helping of Star Wars. There were lots of carded figures from the 90s, some of the old Hasbro 12 inch figures and some Medicom figures. If you like your Medicom, you should come here.

So, that was my one and a half hours spent in this most interesting place. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Hong Kong.
