Ding ding ding! I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like another pharmacy chain in this country is going to be bought out very soon.
Boots was bought over last year by U.S. company Walgreens. You know Boots, the pharmacy chain that's engaged in a protracted legal battle over employee rights, the chain that's using legal loopholes to avoid having to comply with human rights legislation.
Now it looks like Co-op might be bought over by CVS or Shopper Drug Mart. Until last year I had no idea who these U.S. companies were. Here are some things I do know. Those are not catchy names that roll off the tongue. Also, if the previous example is any indication then things are about to go down the toilet again. Once more into the drain, dear friends, once more!
