Blokus: don't touch yourself, but touch everyone else

Blokus is incredibly fun and addictive. I urge everyone to give it a try. Once you do, it'll probably become your go to board game at parties and family gatherings.

It's been a while since I last wrote about a tabletop game (Hnefatafl and Gloom) and I've returned to indoctrimate you into the glory that is Blokus. It's the simplicity of chess or checkers, easy to learn but hard to master. With infinite replayability.

Each player has 21 unique pieces, each one a different shape or arrangmement resembling Tetris blocks. The goal is to lay as many of your pieces as you can.

Here's the thing, though. Every piece must be played touching - corner to corner - another one of your own piece that's already on the board. No direct contact of any sides, but you're free to come into contact with your opponents' pieces.

Or, to use my sister's words "Don't touch yourself, but touch everyone else." Words of a lawyer.
