In Love Letter, you compete with other players to be the biggest romantic, trying your best to woo the princess. You play through a series of quick rounds with a 16 card deck, take turns exchanging the one card in your hand for another and try to knock other players out of the game.
This is where the game gets clever, because you can only ever have a single card at any time (kept secret from all the other players). The cards represent different characters with different abilities e.g. look at another player's hand, trade hands with another player of your choice.
With only 16 cards, Love Letter quickly becomes a game of deduction, where a good poker face is probably a good skill to have too.
This is perfect if your group has little experience with games, or if you can't be bothered breaking out the more complex titles in your collection.
A game that takes 5 minutes to learn and 30 minutes to play, Love Letter has become another of my favourites.
